NASHIM engages in a variety of activities to train specialists in medical care for Hibakusha, develops and disseminates medical care specifically for Hibakusha and shares related information and knowledge with interested parties.
Specialist Training
NASHIM organizes a range of training programs for specialists in medical care for Hibakusha in irradiated areas around the world, including Chernobyl and Semipalatinsk.
Accepting trainees and dispatching medical specialists
As NASHIM independent programs, we accept trainees and dispatch physicians and other medical specialists to provide training, technical support and medical information to medical professionals treating Hibakusha in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Korea, etc.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Radiation Effects Research Foundation, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), the Japan Red Cross Society and some NGOs, NASHIM organizes training programs in Nagasaki for trainees sponsored by these organizations.
Publication of Medical Textbooks
NASHIM publishes and donates Russian-language medical textbooks to medical communities in Chernobyl accident-affected countries; the textbooks donated thus far include Basics of the Thyroid Gland and Thyroid Gland Ultrasonic Image Analysis.
