Training Acceptance/Dispatch for Doctors"The Main Points for Application"

1. Activity Resolution

The Nagasaki Association for Hibakushas' Medical Care (NASHIM) utilizes the records of treatment for atomic bomb victims and radiation disorder research results, accumulated by Nagasaki to provide technical support, medical information, and guidance to international medical and other researchers for atomic victims' medical treatment and health care. Training acceptance project for doctors and others, and dispatch project for medical specialists and others will be conducted.

2. Activity Contents

  1. NASHIM's Original Training Acceptance/Dispatch Project
    The training for doctors and the dispatch project for medical specialists and others, will be originally conducted to applicants recognized as most demanded by NASHIM.
  2. Joint Project
    The government and related organizations will join to conduct the dispatch for training of doctors and others.
  3. Training Acceptance/Dispatch "Window Control Project"
    According to applications for training acceptance of doctors and the others from foreign countries, and the dispatch of medical specialists and others to foreign countries; efficient training will be administered through mutual communication adjustments with related organizations.

3. Essential Factors for the Objectives

The objectives for training acceptance of doctors and dispatch of medical specialists and others. The following obligations are required:

  1. The general rule for applications from official international organizations, foreign governments, district governments, medical associations and others, must pass through the official organization within the country of Japan.
  2. Training Acceptance of Doctors and Others
    * Doctors and others who will be receiving training must be related to the medical/health care of atomic victims.
    * Doctors and others who request long term training (more than 2 weeks), must have the ability to receive training smoothly and efficiently by having a competent understanding of English.

  3. The main purpose of dispatching doctors and others, is to provide skill training for those who are involved with the medical health care, etc., of atomic victims.

4. Applications Process

  1. Doctors and others applying for training must apply with written required facts using the

  3. Doctors and others applying for dispatch must apply with written required facts using the "Dispatch Application for Medical Specialists Concerning on Health Care of Radiation-exposed".
  4. Applications received by September 30 of the year applied will be symmetry examined for acceptance and the dispatch project of the following year.

5. Training Expenditure Allotment for Doctors and Others

  1. When training is conducted as an original project by NASHIM, the following expenditure will be funded by NASHIM:
    * Airline Ticket, Preparation Expense, Sojourn Expense, Domestic Expense, Training Expense, Book Expense, Postage for Materials.
    This will be discussed at a conference held with NASHIM and related organizations.
  2. When the joint project is conducted by NASHIM, the amount of expenditure allotment from NASHIM will be decided through conference with the country and other related organizations.
  3. When the window control project is conducted by NASHIM, as general rule, expenditure will not be allotted by NASHIM.

6. Dispatch Expenditure Allotment for Medical Specialists and Others

When training is conducted as an original project by NASHIM, the following expenditure will be funded by NASHIM:
* Airline Ticket, Preparation Expense, Sojourn Expense, Domestic Expense, Book Expense, Postage for Materials, Activity Expense.
This will be discussed at a conference held with NASHIM and related organizations.
